THIRTY FISH FARMERS BENEFIT FROM OWC IN KIBAALE

By Muganzi Vincent Kibaale district local government has distributed 30,000 (thirty thousand) fingerlings to 30(thirty) fish farmers under Operation Wealth Creation as the district aims at boosting fish farming in the district.

The farmers who were early at the District headquarters to receive the fingerlings received silver tilapia type according to Enid Kahwa the Senior Fisheries Officer Kibaale district. Enid urged the 30 farmers to employ ample time to their projects if they are to reap big their projects and also increase fish production in Kibaale.

She says that fish has a ready market and the demand is high, with that if the fish farmers position themselves properly and develop their projects they are sure the future is bright for the fish market in the district.

Richard Lubega on behalf of the fish farmers expressed gratitude to the District for always giving fishing farming an avenue to also excel in the production market and contribute to the development of the district and Country at large. However they expressed concern over the limited supply of fish feeds and asked the district to source a number of suppliers who will help them sustain the fish business in the district.
