1.9 BILLION SCHOOL PROJECT LAUNCHED IN KIBAALE DISTRICT
Kibaale district local government has today launched the construction of works of St John Baptist Seed Secondary School in Kasimbi Sub County, Kibaale district.
District officials led by the Resident District Commissioner Kibaale, Godwin Angalia Kasigwa launched the over UGX 1.9 billion construction project that will be taken up by SASALI CONTRACTORS LTD for the period of 8 months, before the different stakeholders that included Fred Matovu the NRM chairperson Kibaale, Andrew Kisembo the inspector who represented Chief Administrative Officer District Education Officer, DEC members, District Speaker Peter Lugumba, among others.
Godfrey Obukulem the Assistant Engineering Officer-Civil says that the phase one construction of the school includes 2 classroom blocks, 2-unit science laboratory, 5 stance drainage VIP latrine for boys and 5 stance drainage VIP latrine for girls, also including an administration block, 2 stance drainage VIP latrine for administration block and external works among others.
While launching the mega project, RDC Godwin Angalia Kasigwa asked the contactor to follow the Bills of Quantities (BOQ’s) and avoid tendencies of absconding from work.
Godfrey Muhonge Kasanga the District Chairperson Kibaale urged the different stakeholders to carry on supervision so that they can realize quality works and further cautioned the contractor to avoid causing disharmony in the community.
Rev Fr John Mary Busoboozi the Parish Priest St Jude Catholic Parish Kasimbi and Rev Fr William Twesige the Head teacher St John Baptist SS who also graced the function hailed the government for its endess efforts in improving education in the country and said currently the school has the enrolment of 96 students from S1-S4, and they said the numbers are expected to increase.
