FINANCE MINISTER LAUNCHES PRF IN KIBAALE

The waiting days are done for residents of Kibaale district as Parish Development Money-PRF is launched in the area.

The function that took place yesterday at the district headquaters saw 147 beneficiaries of the strategy from 5 Parishes in the District delighted to be given a go ahead to access and use the money.

 

According to Deo Kabugo the Deputy CAO, Kibaale District registered 57 SACCOs from 57 Parishes with membership of 10,103 people (5,557 females and 4546 males) but only 1,771 beneficiaries are currently verified to receive the money.

 

In this FY 2022/2023, Kibaale District received 1.8Billion and 5.7 Billion is expected and each of 56 SACCOs is now credited with 32.8Million and 1 SACCO with 25Million instead of 100Million this means that the District is still demanding over 3.8Billion.

 

The first 5 Parishes that received the money include; Kituuma in Mugarama Sub County, Kirasa in Kyebando, Kibaali in Bwamiramira, Nyamugura in Kabasekende and Igoza in Nyamarwa Sub County.

 

Kabugo further reveals that as the District they have done their work during verification of beneficiaries and they are expecting good results. 

Addressing the gathering at the District headquarters as the chief guest, Matia Kasaija the minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development who also doubles as the Mp Buyanja Constituency says that the government is determined to ensure the targeted 39% people embroiled in poverty and this money is not a grant as some people think

Noeline Kisembo Basemera the District Woman Mp urged the electorates to properly use the money such that they realize the required transformation. 

  

Kibaale District Chairperson Godfrey Muhonge Kasanga pleaded with the PDM beneficiaries as he called onto them to focus on their chosen enterprises and implement as per the business plans.

 

This money will be received via Stanbic and Post Banks through a free cost account, on behalf of the Two Banks, Arnold Sekajja the personal Bank Stanbic Bwamiramira Branch thanked the Government for trusting them by giving them this offer.
