KIBAALE DISTRICT RECEIVES NEW VEHICLE TO BOOST COVID-19 FIGHT

Kibaale District has today received a brand new Toyota double cabin vehicle Reg No; UG 7033M to help in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the section of surveillance.

While receiving the vehicle in a function that was graced by the Deputy RDC Carol Kasaija, Deouty CAO Habib Abubakar, Vice Chairperson Gerald Bategeka, District Communications Officer Muganzi Vincent and the Health Department staff, the DHO Dr.Timbihulira Godfrey praised the Central government saying that they thought it right at the right moment to provide transport means to Kibaale District to help in the fight against the pandemic since the district has been struggling with transport when it comes to surveillance. He pledged to continue engaging the different stakeholders to raise awareness so that the fight against COVID-19 is won.

Habib Abubakar who was delighted to witness the function said he expects some lose ends in the surveillance sector in the district in regard to health to be tightened with the existence of a new vehicle. However he called for proper usage of the vehicle tasking the DHO to do routine mechanical maintenance.

The Deputy RDC Carol Kasaija the government for always being proactive and fulfilling especially in times of dire need. She said the government will do whatever it takes to fight the pandemic that is taking the toll on the economy currently, leaving majority of the citizens worried. However she re-emphasized the need to go vaccination and observing the SOPs saying it is one way the nation will see light at the end of the tunnel.
