MINISTER KASAIJA COMMISSIONS UGX 745M PIPED WATER PROJECT IN KIBAALE

Residents from over 3,500 households in Mugarama Sub County, Kibaale District are excited following the commissioning of the Imara piped water system extension which has cost a total of 745milion shillings under the lobbying of area MPs.

 

The multimillion project has been implemented by Kibaale district local government and it possesses capacity of a water tank reservoir of 6,000liters and 20 public water taps.

 

While commissioning the project at St. Johns Primary School premises in Imara, Mugarama Sub County, Finance Minister who is also area MP Buyanja County Matia Kasaija reechoed his earlier commitment of ensuring that each household gets safe water and fetches water in less than a kilometer and that he is focused to also have electricity extended to each household to accelerate developmental projects like small industries.

 

He has however used the same function to warn encroachers on wetlands and forest reserves to vacate or else they face apprehension.

 

At the same function, the Kibaale District Woman MP Basemera Noeline Kisembo urged locals to utilize the lobbied projects in the area to set up income generating projects other than wasting their time on non-developmental.

 

The District Officer Ben Sekuya who was present said that after the transformer is installed, the system will be able to benefit over 10,000 people with the production well’s capacity of 10,000 liters per hour.
