UGX 893M ROAD WORKS LAUNCHED IN KIBAALE-KAKUMIRO

Works and Transport Ministry has launched the periodic maintenance of a 14.8 Kilometers of Kisalizi Kabuhuuna-Igayaaza road with the connection from Kabuhuuna bridge to Birembo road that joins Kibaale and Kakumiro districts.

 

The project has been contracted to JUCO Logistic LTD at a tune of 893 million shillings expected to be completed in a period of six months.

 

Rose Apio, a civil engineer from the ministry of works and transport notes that activities to be done on the road include; bush clearing, shaping and compacting, installation of culverts as well as marraming thus there will be no compensation.

 

The function was held at Kabuhuuna trading center Kyebando Sub County in Kibaale district thereafter to Rwabasengura in Igayaza town council Kakumiro district.

 

Dr Emely Kugonza, the MP Buyanja East constituency has congratulated the beneficiaries attributing it to the joint effort from both leaders of Kibaale and Kakumiro district thus calling locals to utilize the road for productivity.

 

Josephat Tumwesigye, the MP Bugangaizi south constituency who was also present to witness the launch commends the effort put towards the maintenance of road that will increase community production.

 

The function was graced by district councilors, LC 3 chairpersons, technocrats from both districts and other community members.

 

Godfrey Muhonge Kasanga, the District Chairperson Kibaale reechoed to the residents the need to own and embrace government projects in their respective ares and cautioned them to deter from sabotaging the road project,.

Excited locals could not hide their excitement hailing MPs from Kibaale and Kakumiro district towards road maintenance.
