Kibaale District Projects to Implement over Ushs27 Billion Budget in FY 2022/2023

By Muganzi Vincent The long awaited Kibaale district budget conference for the Financial Year 2022-2023 has today ended at Kibaale district headquarters revealing a prospectus district expenditure of over Ugx 27.1 billion shillings the coming Financial Year. Dorothy Ajwang the Chief Administrative Officer Kibaale, highlighted that the budget will primarily focus on two broad objectives that include; mitigating COVID-19 impact on business activities and livelihoods to support the recovery of the economy as well as increasing access to capital, revamping health infrastructure and health systems. According to her, the district projects the resource envelope of over Ugx 430.2million (1.6%) as local revenue, Ugx 26.2billion as central government transfers (96.7%) and over Ugx 452.8million (1.7%) as external funding. Blessed with different development partners the budget conference saw; Eco- Agric Uganda committing itself to implement some projects with an estimated budget of over Ugx 613million as well as Pathfinder and USAID that committed to continue sensitizing the communities on family planning activities among others. Muhonge Godfrey Kasanga the District Chairperson who guided the deliberations tasked the Councilors, Head of Departments and Sections among other stakeholders to hold regular meeting to assess work plans and pave way for proper service delivery. However Resident District Commissioner Kibaale expressed the need to implement what has been planned for the coming financial year in order to realize good service delivery, calling for all stakeholders to be more action oriented.
