MULTI-BILLION PROJECTS COMMISIONED IN KIBAALE
Excitmented and joyous parents and pupils of Bujogoro primary school today welcomed Kibaale distirct leadershi[p for the commissioning of the completed construction works of a 2 classroom block, office and a store at Bujogoro primary school in Nyamarunda Sub County, Kibaale district.
The construction of the 2 classroom block, office and a store plus rain water harvesting system (10,000 Ltr capacity tank) was contracted by SHAPAM Holdings LTD at an estimated sum of over 100M and was implemented by Kibaale district local government.
Engineer Hamidu Mwesige Supervisor of Works who was the project manager says the construction works commenced on 15th December last year and it would take 6 months. Over Ugx 97M has so far been paid to the Contractor. Hamidu says the amount retained payable after six months of defects liability period is over 4 million shillings.
The joyous parents and learners who graced the function thanked government for the construction siting that it will lead to improvement in academic performance.
Philip Byabasaija the head teacher Bujogoro primary school hailed the district for responding to their outcry of inadequate structures and that the school has an enrollment of 629 pupils, hwoever staff levels were still low and requested gvoernment to increase on capitation grant.
While commissioning the structure, Godfrey Muhonge Kasanga acknowledged the wonderful work done by the contractor but asked the school management to ensure proper usage and maintenance and rallied parents to take their children to school.
Later, the same officials proceeded and commissioned a 2 classroom block, office and a store plus rain water harvesting system of 10,000-liter capacity tank at Muhangi primary school in Mugarama Sub County that was contracted by M/S Sasali Contractors Ltd at a tune of over 98 million shillings.
The project commenced on 07th December last for six months and that currently over 93 million shillings has been paid to him and the amount retained is over 4 million shillings.
The function was graced by different dignitaries including Fulujensio Kobusheshe the Deputy DISO who represented RDC Kibaale, Peter Nsamba the principal assistant secretary who represented CAO, John Talagaboine the inspector of schools who represented DEO, lower political leaders among others.
