Over 2,300 candidates set to sit for Primary Leaving Examinations in Kibaale
A total of 2,333 candidates are set to sit for Primary Leaving Examinations for the academic year 2023 at 39 sitting center in Kibaale district. According to John Talagaboine the senior education officer Kibaale who is in charge of coordinating PLE activities says that 39 supervisors and 104 invigilators have been selected from different schools within the district. Talagaboine reveals that the education department through the CAO John Katotoroma reviewed and submitted 39 sitting centers to UNEB including the 02 sitting centers that were shifted namely, Kasambya parents and St Peters Kibeedi primary schools. He says, they are expecting to receive 39 scouts that will be deployed from other districts and 01 district monitor who represents UNEB in the district and that there has been an increase of candidates compared to last year where 2,072 candidates sat for UNEB. Talagoine says UNEB has issued out the new guidelines regarding the selection of distributors whereby they have been asked to select from listed categories including secondary teachers, tutors, retired educationists, religious leaders, local government leadership and civil servants and this has been done to avoid conflict of interest. He says only 15 distributors have been selected and that PLE will begin on 07th this month with the briefing of candidates and on 08th morning candidates will start the exams with Mathematics, afternoon with Social Studies and Religious Education, on 09th in the morning will be Integrated Science and afternoon will be English.
