UBOS Trains Listers in Kibaale in Census mapping ahead of National Census

14 Listers have been trained in Kibaale Uganda Bureau of Statistics Agency (UBOS) ahead of the Census mapping exercise that will later be followed by the national census.

Census mapping exercise will capture the update boundaries of administrative areas in Kibaale district. The training was held today in the council hall at Kibaale District headquarters and the 14 listers have been chosen from the sub counties and town councils in Kibaale.

Doreen Afura the Technical person from UBOS says that the Census mapping exercise will commence tomorrow 10th and up to 10th next month and once complete, the data will be submitted to the UBOS data base to be used in forthcoming National census exercise slated for 24th August this year.

The trained Listers have however expressed worry that some locals refuse to be registered, insufficient field facilitation, migrants who could have already been mapped in different area, and densely populated villages factors that may cause need for additional time.

Afura notes that the raised concerned will be looked into and addressed in the due course of the exercise. In his remarks, John Katotoroma, the Kibaale Chief Administrative Officer called on the Listers to bare patience as they execute their duties because pays are always done electronically.
